Labour's action on crime campaign

Sedgefield
Labour's local man Phil Wilson launched his campaign in the Sedgefield by-election by vowing to get tough on drugs, vandalism and teen gangs.

A leaflet will be distributed to every household over the coming days explaining Phil's commitment to tackling crime & anti-social behaviour and exposing the out of touch approach of the Lib Dems.

Phil Wilson said:

"On Friday night I was out and about with the police patrolling the villages and towns getting to know exactly why the powers Labour has brought in are so important to tackling anti-social behaviour.

"I will work with the local police, local community officers and wardens and with local residents to make sure that the extra resources and powers we have are used effectively in each of our communities.

"I want to hear from local people about areas of trouble, drug use, vandalism or graffiti and together we will get it sorted. Let me know what more we can do together to make our area as safe as possible."

The campaign will expose the truth about the Lib Dems being soft on crime and soft on drugs.

Phil Wilson added:

"If they were from round here they would know that a small number of people can cause misery for entire communities. I want to make sure that everyone feels safe and secure in our homes, on our streets and in our villages and towns.

"They should see the damage done by a small minority. I am on the side of the law abiding majority and always will be and I think it is important that people know that the Lib Dems would back the rights of criminals over the rights of local people."
